For this complete demo and redesign of the lobby at Los Angeles’s Firemen’s Credit Union, we turned to the firefighter’s friend: the firepole. Inside the lobby, a brushed steel signage pole becomes the center of a radiating design, including curved glass doors flanked by curving art displays, and an elegantly curved guard’s desk, relocated to the back of the space for a 360-degree view of the circular space. Red finishes and shining floors make this new space bright and –dare we say it?– kind of hot.
